The Pandemic Blog serves three main purposes:
1) To keep people up to date on the latest news regarding pandemics and epidemics
2) To provide information about pandemics and epidemics in general
3) Provide unique information about natural and traditional remedies and preventive measures that apply to pandemics and epidemics
It is really purpose #3 that sets us apart.
We believe the following are good reasons to be aware of natural and traditional remedies and preventive measures:
a) They tend to be dietary or herbal
b) They tend to be low risk
c) They tend to be relatively cheap and available
d) They can often be used without interfering with other approaches, such as a main stream medical approach
e) They often can be used to supplement a conventional approach
f) In some situations it makes sense to try a less invasive/risky approach before trying a riskier approach (of course this is a call that should be made by your doctor)
We at the Pandemic Blog do not have a bias against mainstream medicine; rather, we do not have enough expertise to maintain a blog about pandemics and epidemics from the perspective of mainstream medicine. There are already enough good people doing that anyway. We are trying to cover the territory that less people are aware of and that are more in line with our expertise. Note, use of this website is subject to our disclaimer; nothing on this website is medical advice or professional advice.
